In cases of discrepancy between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the latter will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Brentford, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ by vehicle type. A full driving licence suitable for the rented vehicle is required, held for the minimum duration specified in the Rental Agreement. Additionally, valid identification and proof of your current address are necessary. Payment details and a security deposit must be provided, along with any other requirements listed in the Rental Agreement.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, by phone, or directly at our Brentford office. A deposit may be needed to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are usually payable at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept leading credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment partners.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is essential to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be generated and must be signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same state as it was collected, excluding normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. Please return the vehicle with the same fuel level as initially provided; refueling fees will apply if the fuel level is lower upon return. Late returns may attract extra charges, so please inform us as soon as possible if you foresee any delays. You will be held accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or related charges accrued during the rental period, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All car rentals include basic third-party insurance as standard. Details regarding coverage and excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to limit your financial responsibility. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount unless covered by additional policies. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse falls under your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the booking type and the notice period provided. For specific information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for illegal purposes is prohibited. Activities such as racing, rallying, or off-roading are not permitted. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is forbidden. Driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly against policy. The vehicle must be used as intended and within designated passenger and weight limits. Driving outside the agreed geographical boundaries requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Brentford will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the total amount paid for the rental in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
